The Chinese food cart on the side of the road near the hospital where I work. Chinese is the new Mexican; I could eat it everyday!

Coloring books, remember Patrick? I happened to be at the, um, post office, and I notice that coloring books and crayons are kept on the table for the public use of all who are waiting- I feel better about that. And yes I do often, ok, occasionally, see Patrick on campus; however, we do not speak.

Bird poop and bronchitis, chemistry and boys

This morning as I was walking to class, slightly PO�d to be walking so far so early in the morning (a few blocks at 7:30am), I saw something fall from the sky. It was bird crap. Brown bird crap! It landed on the sidewalk right in front of me. If I had been a millimeter forward and half a centimeter to the right, it would have landed on my head. I interpreted this as a sign that fate is on my side and that good things will undoubtedly occur for me today. Well, nothing terrible has happened today, so that is a good thing.

I think I am coming down with bronchitis. A lady at work brought her infected kid into the office this morning. He coughed in my air and I am not feeling so hot (i. e. short of breath, feverish, fatigued), I must have bronchitis.

Thursday is my busiest day. This morning I went to chemistry class, then to work, after work I have chem lab, before I can go to bed I have to finish writing my lab report, since it is due by 4pm tomorrow.

I am enjoying chemistry. I am learning a lot.

I met 2 other people in my class who have already finished college and are now going back to school for pre-med classes. Just like me! Both are male. I think one is a good bit older than me. The other one is about my age, he graduated from college the same year as me, and we have some other things in common as well.

It's been said that today is the most depressing day of the year. I didn't think I was depressed until I read that. I did have to walk to class in the rain this morning.

Wellness EXPO: free stuff, chiropractors, and tuna

Today I went to the MUSC Wellness Expo. When not manning my smoking cessation booth, I wandered around the Expo. My plastic bag was soon full of goodies. Mostly pens and coosies, however there were a few special treats. Among them were a commemorative
Charleston Cycle Fest glass and poster, a can of tuna fish from the Bi-Lo , and most terrifically, a Vytorin pocket protector. I offen suffer from ink leakage in my lab coat pockets.

I registered for the Cooper River Bridge Run . Must start trainning.

I recieved a massage from some guy, who told me that I need some work done on my back. By some work he meant see a chiropractor. He seemed to know what he was talking about, and my back does hurt a lot. I am a bit weary of chiropractors, but a 1 hour massage for the price he quoted sounds delightful. Any advice?

My life has been lacking in ridiculous reality TV drama since the finale of Martha Stweart's Apprentice.

Tara and Sarah Canada are my favorites so far.

Faithfulness

Last week I went to a small group Bible study where we were encouraged to think about, and share, the ways in which God was faithful to us in 2005 and how we will strive to be faithful to Him in 2006.

I am overwhlemed by God's outpouring of faithfulness to me in the past year. You may know that I started 2005 in Chattanooga and now I live in Charleston. If you know me very well you may also remember many ups and downs along the way.

On recent visit to Chattanooga I was reminded of the changes in my life and of how much I have changed. Through it all God is ever faithful.

As I begin 2006(which, I am convinced will be the best year ever), this scripture has been on my mind:

Psalm 37:5-6
Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

Commit and trust. This is how I strive to live in 2006.

So it is the end of first week of class. I already dropped Biology. Still taking Chemistry. Today I bought my book, paid my bill, and had my Cougar Card made.

Back to School

I regisered for classes at College of Charleston today. Biology and Chemistry. School starts Monday.
